How Do To Showing Security tab in Folder Properties?

0

Steps:
1. The hard drive must be formatted NTFS for this tab appears.
2. If you are running XP Pro, you need to open Windows Explorer, go to Tools, Folder Options, View and uncheck Use Simple File Sharing.
3. If you are running XP Home, Simple File Sharing is not enforced by default and can be disabled. You have to boot the computer into Safe Mode and log in with an Administrator Account, to see the Security tab. A work around for XP Home, so you do not need to go into Safe Mode, can be found here.
Note: Set the permissions on the file, drive or folder can lock even the Administrator account out of the drive folder / file /. Deny Permissions take precedence over Allow Permissions, regardless of your group membership. Administrators are members of the Users group by default. Uncheck Allow, rather than using Deny.
