Ingredients:
- Mua Maas* or any small fish 250 gms
- Cleaned and washed Garlic
- Pounded coarsely 1 tablespoonful Ginger
- Pounded coarsely 1 tablespoonful
- Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoonful
- Mustard oil 1 tablespoonful
- Salt
- Green chilli,
- Chopped finely 2 Onion
- Chopped finely 1
- Lemon
- Banana leaf
- Washed thoroughly
- The lightly heated over a flame
Method:
Mix the fish with ginger, garlic, green chilli, salt, turmeric and little mustard oil. Wrap carefully with banana leaf and tie securely. Now put it in a hot pan/tawa over a slow flame and cover it wit a lid. Keep it over the tawa ( turn side once) for about 30 minutes, or till the banana leaf is slightly burnt. A beautiful aroma from the fish will come out. Then open it and mix chopped onion, some chopped coriander and little lemon juice. Also add little mustard oil to enhance the flavour. Now mix it carefully and serve this very delicious dish with rice.
This dish can be cooked in oven also. If banana leaf is not available, then one can use aluminum foil also, but the taste will vary.
