Some computer takes to many times to Boot. Now you can speed up your windows boot. It’s very easy. Here are some steps to booting windows xp and 7 fast.
- Open a notepad file and type "del c:\windows\prefetch\ntosboot-*.* /q" (without the quotes) & save as ntosboot.bat in your c drive i.e. c:\
- Go to the Start menu and Click Run & type gpedit.msc
- Now a window is open call Local Group Policy Editor
- Double click Windows Settings under Computer Configuration and click on Scripts (Startup/Shutdown) option. Now double click on Shutdown in the right window.
- A new window is open call Shutdown Properties. Click the add button, and now select the Browse button (from Add a Script dialog box) and locate your ntosboot.bat file & click Open.
- Click OK, than Apply & OK once again to exit and save.
- Now open Device Manager. To open it goes to Start menu and Click Run & type devmgmt.msc.
- Now double click on IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers
- Right click on Primary IDE Channel and select Properties.
- Select the Advanced Settings tab then on the device or 1 that doesn't have 'device type' greyed out select none instead of 'autodetect' & click the OK button.
- Right click on Secondary IDE channel, select Properties and repeat step 10.
- Now Restart your computer and enjoy the speed.
